Dr Daniel E Varanauski, DN is an Illinois Naprapathic Examining Board Certified/Licensed Naprapathic practitioner, Licensed Nutritional Counselor and is the Co-Director and Founder of Lakeshore Integrative Healthcare. He specializes in connective tissue and musculoskeletal pain disorders, sports injuries and stress-related illnesses. Entering the health field over 25 years ago, he obtained a degree in Psychology in 1984 and embarked on a career of crisis intervention, individual and group counseling and teaching various wellness concepts in multiple private hospital settings, including Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, IL., St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet, Edwards Hospital in Naperville, IL, and the privately owned and operated Rock Creek Center in Lemont, IL.
His wide experience with patients having stress-related disorders led him to expand his training towards a massage therapy certification in 1997 from one of the premier massage schools in the Chicagoland area – the Massage and Wellness Training Institute in Woodridge, IL. These courses enhanced his focus on teaching stress management and wellness. Dr. Varanauski became increasingly intrigued with the integration of age-old manual medicine, nutrition and the latest technology and research in evidence-based medicine. He obtained his Illinois board certification as a Naprapath after graduating from the National College of Naprapathic Medicine in Chicago, IL in 2002 with the highest scholastic Achievement in Science Award.
Dr. Varanauski’s gentle and comprehensive approach to health encompasses almost three decades of experience and utilizes a variety of integrative healing modalities including traditional manual medicine, photobiostimulation/laser therapy, deep tissue massage techniques, therapeutic and rehabilitative exercise, nutritional and stress management counseling to bring about optimal balance and well-being. His goal is always to provide patients with a holistic multidisciplinary alternative approach to health care in a caring and patient-centered practice.
He is currently the Vice President of the American Naprapathic Association, in addition to being a Board Adviser to the American College of Physical Medicine. He is also the President of the neighborhood group called the Wrightwood Neighbors Association in Lincoln Park, Chicago, Illinois who donates over $200,000.00 each year to local charities. Dr. Varanauski hosts and is a presenter at various manual and physical medicine seminars.
